The 72nd UIA Congress is Coming to Tokyo
Business Events Tokyo is pleased to announce that the 72nd UIA Congress will be held in Tokyo from November 1 to 4, 2028, at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba. The Congress is the premier annual event of the Union Internationale des Avocats (International Association of Lawyers) and is expected to attract approximately 1,500 legal professionals from Japan and overseas. The UIA Congress is one of the world's leading international gatherings for legal experts, bringing together lawyers, bar association representatives, academics, and members of the judiciary from more than 110 countries and regions.
Tokyo was selected as the host city in recognition of its outstanding convention infrastructure, strong track record in organizing large‑scale international meetings, and its active community of academics and legal professionals engaged with UIA, as well as Tokyo's status as a key hub for international legal exchange in Asia. In‑kind and financial support from the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau also played an important role in securing the successful bid.
Further details regarding the program themes and registration schedule will be announced by the UIA Secretariat as preparations progress.
