Synonymous with large sporting events, Tokyo Dome was opened in 1988 as Japan's first covered stadium. Situated close to train and subway lines, it is easily accessible from Haneda and Narita airports. The venue accommodates 55,000 people and is often used for concerts and other large-scale events. Tokyo Dome is home to the popular baseball team Yomiuri Giants and also attracts other sporting events. The baseball-field wings are equipped with 13,000 retractable seats on both sides to expand the arena for conventions. Tokyo Dome is the best choice for large-scale events intended to make an impact. Comprising part of the Tokyo Dome City complex, a hotel and an amusement park are close by.
